We are seeking a dedicated and highly-skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in the operating room. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical field, with a special focus on eye surgery. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment in Philadelphia. Our healthcare facility is committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients, and we need a passionate, detail-oriented RN to help us achieve this goal.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care to patients undergoing eye surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure a successful surgical procedure.
• Conduct preoperative assessments to determine patients' physical and emotional status, discuss procedures and anesthesia, and educate patients about postoperative care.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and document patients' progress throughout the surgical procedure.
• Implement nursing interventions to prevent surgical complications.
• Assist in the preparation of the operating room, including setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterilizing reusable surgical instruments, and ensuring adequate supplies are available for surgery.
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families, answering questions, and addressing concerns about surgery.
• Adhere to all healthcare regulations and standards, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with the latest advancements in the field of eye surgery.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must have a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of PA
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in the operating room.
• Experience with eye surgery is strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
• Compassionate and empathetic, with a patient-centered approach to care.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
• Proficient in electronic medical records and medical software systems.
• Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• BLS and ACLS certification is required.
